The proposed Railroad going through Porter County will potentially delay and disrupt the education of students in the Porter Township School District. Schools would have to wait on the busses to start their day. This would also delay students arriving home in the afternoon. The noise of the train would greatly effect students who are sensitive to loud sounds. This includes our Special Education students who come from 5 neighboring districts including Boone Grove. Waiting for the train to pass or hearing it during class could cause them to do potential harm to themselves and/or others as they do not know how to deal with such noises.
