The GLB railway terminal area will cover land behind my house. It contains Trim Creek with filter belts and wildlife areas and 3 ponds just on our land alone. Water birds and wildlife will be adversely affected by this aggressive private venture. This is also productive farm land. There will be noise, pollution and the disruption of water flow during floods from the train trestle that will have to cross the creek. There is a railroad 3 miles east of Grant park that went under leaving much of the railroad bed unrestored to the land's original contours. Another one 4 miles west has much of it's railroad bed unrestored to its original state. Even mining land on the Thunder Basin National Grassland is restored after the coal is taken. Why are railroads exempt from cleaning up their mess? After this railway is no longer needed, will this 15000 acre terminal area appear as an ugly brown spot on google earth? And what about the miles and miles of railroad bed? Will that ever be restored or will we just leave that mess for our children and grandchildren. Please investigate this venture!
