I am vehementely opposed to the proposed GLB Railroad. They are trying to put a railroad through my family farm. This farm has been in my wife's family for over a hundred years. This will impact my farm in Indiana and the farm in Illinois. I will now have to live within a half mile of a train track and within 3 miles of a rail yard. My property value will decrease I will not be able to move between my fields in a timely matter because they are proposing shutting my road down at the site of the tracks. I have children that need to get to school, the buses, the police or ambulance will have no easy access to my house. I will be forced to drive tractors and farm equipment on the highways slowing traffic. The school in town will be less then a half mile from this enormous proposed rail yard. The hazards of the children driving to school, either on the bus or driving themselves, with all these trains will be enormous. It will be nearly impossible to get my grain to the Grant Park elevator because of all the trains and tracks. This proposed rail yard will destroy my family farm, my school district, my community and my livelihood.
