Mr. Navecky, I am veteran of the United States Marine corps. Honorably serving my country for 5 years. It's with great concern that I'm writing you. After serving this great nation of ours I returned to Grant Park in hopes to raise my family in a small town community, where the crime rates are low and there are still God fearing, hard working Americans! With a railyard of that magnitude the crime will rise, and the beautiful productive farm land will be lost. The people of the town Grant Park are so deeply rooted here that their ancestors who's land is passed down from generation to generation, are resting in the very cemeteries that are being threatened by Great Lakes basin rail road. In 1880 Marry Elizabeth Lease of the farmers alliance said, raise, less corn, and more hell" which in my mind there is no doubt the farms and citizens of Grant park will stand hand in hand to " raise more hell" against this disgusting mogul that is Frank Patton who has the audacity to compare himself to the hard working people of grant park. He will destroy the rivers and creeks that are abundant to the local areas. The state officials and Epa, are already warning Illinois residents about Cyanobacteria forming on lakes, rivers and ponds. This algae causes a release of toxic chemicals that can cause vomiting, rashes, coughing, wheezing. This is with out a 15,000 acre railyard adding to the amount of pollutants that will drain into said bodies of water. Thank you for your time, God bless you, God bless America. Semper Fi Cpl Kenneth R. Ruggiero/ United States Marine corps"
