The map attached shows the rail lines in Illinois, the major lines in Chicago proper are Union Pacific and Norfolk Southern. Both these lines have stated they will not use the GLB rail line. Since the two major sources of train traffic in Chicago proper have no intention of using this line, the line needs to be denied. The line does not serve the stated needed of it's investors. The line's impact of the environment would be huge and since it does not eliminate the majority of the train traffic, it needs denied. This line is meant to be a bypass and it does not do this. Please explain how the line helps the environment and reduces train traffic?
