Mr. Navecky, Save Our Farmland! I am writing in opposition of the GLBT railway project. Our family farm is located 1/2 mile from the location or the proposed railroad. My husband's family has owned this farm for almost 100 years. We were very fortunate to take over the farm about 12 years ago. We feel blessed to carry on the farming legacy for his family and now ours. My husband & I, our 3 grown sons & their families, all respect the farmland and want to preserve it for future generations. Frank Patton and his investors see this as a great business opportunity. A way to solve the rail bottleneck in Chicago and a surefire way to make a profit. Investing is their way of life. What about us? Farming is our way of life! This railroad is going to lessen the profit margin for a lot of farm families. That is their only means of making a living. Please consider this when making your decision. Most farmers love farming! The hours are long~ the pay is minimal~ but the satisfaction is beyond measure! We need to take care of the farmland. It is a precious natural resource. Please Save Our Farmland!
