Dear Mr. Navecky, Please cease any future planning related to this docket. It is an unnecessary and unjust proposed use of eminent domain that serves no public use. The environmental concerns of this project are numerous. The one thing in this world that God is not making any more of is land. Taking farms and farmland from people and telling them to go elsewhere is laughable. Land is not for sale elsewhere. Can you even comprehend how difficult it would be to move your entire farm and start over? You should ask people in Sumner Twp (home of the 15,000 acre railport). I'm sure they are having to contemplate that very thought right now. It would be an absolute travesty to do that to the people that provide foods for AMERICANS on a daily basis. And why would you take their farmland? For profitability of private investors? That sounds so truly American, doesn't it? Today is Memorial Day. I cannot believe I'm having to write this on a day to remember fallen soldiers who gave their lives fighting for this country. Surely, they weren't fighting for a country that values the prerogatives of billionaire investors stomping on the little guy to line their own pockets with more. Simply stated, no railroads are backing this charade. This has not gone through the proper channels, has not been properly vetted, public not properly notified, and exemptions already granted that should not have been. Washington is concerned about global warming, correct? Do you have any idea what kind of pollution is caused by freight trains? Please see this link below. The EPA study shows the environmental detriment of railyards and the spike in pollution they cause. http://articles.chicagotribune.com/2014-06-27/news/ct-railyard-diesel-pollution- met-20140627_1_diesel-soot-diesel-pollution-freight Please kill this project immediately as it proves no beneficial use to the public, is detrimental to our natural resources, and is an unjust use of eminent domain.
