It has come to my attention that the Great Lakes Basin has proposed reinstalling a rail line on or about an old/abandoned rail line that was located in LaPorte county Indiana. This proposed line is located approx.1 mile north of U.S.highway 6 or approx. several hundred yards south of my homestead. My wife and I purchased our land 16 years ago and we built a home and created a WRP wetlands site on this property because it was a quite and remote location. The reinstatement of rails along this old/abandoned line will disrupt our tranquility and lower our property values for a route that could be installed for the most part along existing rail lines to the South of U.S.highway 6. It is the dream of my wife and I to live out our retirement years on our quite peaceful property along with the wildlife and our grand children. I ask that you consider other proposals. Thank you.
