[Kouts] Dear Sir, I respectfully ask that the STB consider my opposition to the Above referenced docket number. The railroad will pass within 1/4 mile of the Morgan Township School, as well as close proximity to two other schools in Lake and Porter Counties. It is well documented that children with special needs are greatly disturbed by sudden and loud noises, creating a loss in quality educational time, as well as demand on personnel to attend to student. The noise level will impact students of all abilities as it causes a potential disruption in ability to hear or focus on class work. Additionally the increased number of train crossings will impact the length of time students are on the bus. Early starts and later arrivals home. This increases the risk of bus related accidents. Taking into account the hazardous materials being transported the risk of train derailment creates a safety hazard for the students and faculty. A hazard that the County is not equipped to handle. These factors are simply unacceptable. Our community strives to provide quality education in a safe learning environment for all students. The planned railway will halt this progress and unjustly impact our youth. Respectfully Yours, Mary M. Hodson
