Dear Mr. Navecky, In 1963, my parents purchased a rural property to develop a campground. Our family owned business is still open to the public offering them well maintained grounds with owners living on site and peace and quiet. At the same time that my parents were creating the park, the campground and recreation industry in Illinois began growing and became an established commodity for the state by those that began other campgrounds and recreation areas throughout the State of Illinois. Yes, there are some campgrounds in our state that offer almost everything to their clients but the bottom line, that keeps them coming back, is piece and quiet and feeling secure as guests. If these trains are carrying oil or hazardous materials and traveling 70 mph well gosh, the odds of an unnecessary tragedy just chipped away at feeling secure. Those same trains going over our waterways will take the serene quiet and beauty, harm the flora and animal habitat of our rivers and streams that are attractive to those that want to explore and enjoy our state. My mother and father penned the widely used slogan: Enjoy Illinois" and I must say I'm furious that the GLB Transportation group could become a threat to the Illinois outdoors that so many people come to enjoy. I will not offer an alternative route as I will not be that type of person who would push this to another area and another group of unsuspecting citizens and I say that with all due respect. Regards, April Gerstung"
