I don't want the Great Lakes Basin transportation company going through Salina Twp.Kankakee County,Il. #1. With 9 grade crossings (as proposed) in our twp.there will be an increase in the already long school bus routes of the Herscher School Dist. in the transporting of students to and from school. This will affect grades K- 12. #2: There is an additional Public Safety for the Response Time for the volenteer fire dept as well as police & EMS services. It is also proposed to close (dead end) all township road on the proposed rail path, which would cause further delays in response times. #3: Surface water drainage will be affected by the birms created by the rail beds, thus creating lowland flooding and insect problems.
