I am asking you to deny Mr. Patton a permit to build a railroad. Mr. Patton wants to take over 21,000 acres of the best farmland in the country and make it useless for any further farming activities. A farmer can make up to $1,000 and acre a year, after 20 years he will not make a dime off of his former land, and the rich investors will be making large amounts of money for many generations to come at the expense of the residents from air, water, land, and environmental pollution which is sure to happen. Why should farmers kill the goose that lays the golden egg? This land is valuable to everyone in the country, lets not give it away and destroy it forever. Mr. Patton said in Morris that he took his granddaughter to camp next to a railroad and he hinted he did not like it, how would he like to live next to it? Ken Daggett
