I am a resident in Essex Township within 1/4 mile of the proposed GLB railroad. I am 100% disabled veteran with congestive heart failure. The railroad will very likely cause delays in getting an ambulance from Essex Volunteer Fire Department which will be on the other side of the tracks. Our neighbors will be affected also should any of us have an emergency of any kind. We suspect also that many of the rural roads in our area will be closed at the tracks as they are not well travelled other than local residents. These closures will cause even more delays that will likely lead to increased loss of life and loss of property as firemen, EMTs and police take longer to respond to emergency situations. The risks are too great for our community. Thanks you and it is my hope that the STB will agree that this is a great environmental risk to the residents affected.
