I have many concerns regarding the GLB Railroad. My home is 1/4 mile from the proposed train track. My husband Jim is a 100% disabled veteran with congestive heart failure due to agent orange exposure in Vietnam. My greatest concern is Should we need an ambulance I fear that the Essex volunteer Fire Department will be delayed due to train traffic to and from Essex Fire Station and I believe there is every likelihood also that our rural road and others will dead end at the tracks. Any delay due to confusion getting to us and delays due to trains could cost us precious time and make us and our neighbors less safe. It is my hope that the STB will deny the GLBT proposal due to the fact that it changes our Rural community's safety net significantly for any emergency.
