Although the rail line will not pass directly through our land, our home value will absolutely decrease due to nearby train traffic in the area should this project come to fruition. A $20,000 compensation for a 20-30% decrease in home value hardly seems fair. Also, using eminent domain to obtain property that will profit a private business is an atrocious use of government priveleges. I bought the land, I maintain it, I own it. No freight trains!!!
