My concerns are not only the environment but also the farmland which would be lost and that have meant a livelihood for generations, the farms have been in families for generations. Thanks for listening. On Wed, Apr 6, 2016 at 5:00 PM, Elizabeth Varnes <evarnes@gmail.com> wrote: I had previously emailed about our concerns regarding the Great Lakes Basin Railroad Project. I am sending along pictures of our wetland, Wildlife Sanctuary Certificate and the certification from the Illinois Audubon Society Sanctuary for butterflies and birds. There is also a nesting pair of owls in the woods where the tracks will run, we have several eastern wild turkeys (maybe have 30 to 40) we have counted feeding in the cornfield between our property and river. There are two pair of nesting eagles along the river. Please understand that we are only a small section of environment that will be impacted by the railroad, the scope of what chaos this railroad will bring to us is unimaginable to say nothing of the loss of the most fertile farmland in America. Will be a travesty to our State. That you for letting me share this with you. Sincerely, Elizabeth Varnes 2472 N. 3959 Rd Sheridan, Il 60551
