I applaud the Great Lakes Basin Transportation concept as great out of the box thinking and a solution to a mired of rail related problems that Metro Chicago faces daily. If no other environmental improvement is taken into consideration the major reduction of locomotive operating hours at low speed and idling in the Chicago Metro area is environmental reason enough to comment in the affirmative for this project.
