The proposed route of this rail project passes over an underground oil pipeline. This pipeline was installed within the last ten years. Depth of the pipeline is approximately 6 feet. I am concerned about the continuous vibrations of 110 trains a day passing over this pipeline. Could the constant vibration damage the structural integrity of the pipeline? If a leak goes undetected soil and ground water contamination is guaranteed.
