The proposed rail line would have a severe negative impact on our family farm in Porter County, Indiana. Our farm ground is among the highest producing farm ground in the Midwest. This proposed rail line would cut a substantial number of our 771acres into triangular pieces that would extensively impair our ability to farm the ground as well as decrease its productivity. The fields have natural drainage but also many tile have been laid to protect our crops from potentially damaging rainfall. The rail line would cut into the tile's ability to drain as well as destroy the natural drainage. Irreparable damage to our farm is not acceptable to us as we are good stewards of this land and have been every year for the past 50 years. This land should not be classified as undeveloped as Great Lakes Basin Transportation, Inc. has called it, but in fact, as a irreplaceable natural resource that produces food to feed the American people and the world through our agricultural exports. This natural resource, our farmland, should never be destroyed for any reason, but definitely not for the profit of some investors in areas with no ties to our community. Again, we do not want this proposed railway to be granted a permit due to the immense permanent damage it will do to the value and income of our farm and also, personal damage to our family who have strong attachment to this beautiful farm. thank you
