I am emailing to let you know that this Great Lakes Basin railroad idea that Frank Patton has is HORRIBLE, TERRIBLE AND just plain STUPID AND IGNORANT! This is not only going to take farmland away, but because of that, it will make crop prices that we pay in the grocery stores increase due to lack of acreage to produce these crops. Us average people cannot afford any more extra expenses. Groceries are already high! This railroad idea will ruin our countryside. We live in the country/suburban areas to get away from this crap! Keep the Chicago stuff in Chicago!!!!! We like the quiet so we can listen to the birds and the tranquility of peace and quiet. We, that live here, enjoy nature! The noise from these 100+ trains per day will be extremely ridiculous and VERY UNNECESSARY!!!! The land will look horrendous if the railroad is allowed to come in. There will be roads going nowhere, drainage tiles that have been broken (which will create flooded areas) and trees torn up. If they build this railroad they will NOT have the respect for our countryside land like we do. He will come along like that other jerk from the city who thought Seneca needed a railport. Everything will be torn up and in a complete disarray. Very disrespectful! And extremely embarrassing for us who care how our land looks! Us country folk love to drive around country roads for cruises in our old cars finding new off the road places and creating new and different memories. With this Great Lakes Basin railroad, many of us won't be able to do that anymore as roads will come to a complete stop because this railroad will not make crossings. So now besides taking land from us, Patton is taking memories away from us. He sounds like a very selfish person! And what about the roads for emergency crew and personnel?????????? They may need to get somewhere off in the country to get to a hurt person but can't because that good ole Patton" and his great (not so much) railroad idea has cut off the emergency crews only path to help this person. There are many people who live off these off the beaten paths that could be affected. How would you feel if your little old grandparents lived at the end of the road and one of them needed emergency help, but Patton's railroad blocked your grandparents only chance to stay alive? I sure as heck wouldn't be very happy! There are already way too may trains in the area. We do NOT need to add anymore to this area. Please, please, please vote NO to this railroad plan. Thank you for your time and consideration. Christie Kiper Seneca, IL"
