Dear Mr. Navecky, I’m urging you not to approve the Great Lakes Basin Transport project for several reasons: • Many concerns on the negative effect the project would have on soil and water quality • Many concerns about the potential for hazardous waste spills and accidents • Destruction of topsoil • Destruction of wildlife habitat • The project isn't necessary as there are adequate rail and other transportation options • CREATE (Chicago Region Environmental and Transportation Efficiency) program is already in existence, the Great Lakes Basin Transport project would be redundant and wasteful Thank you for considering these comments, Rose Marie L.
