Mr. Dave Navecky, Just 18 days after the public scoping meeting at the Lowell VFW on April 12, 2016, there is a freight train derailment. Fourteen cars derailed on May 1, 2016 in Washington D.C. Some of the cars were carrying hazardous material which was spilled only blocks from the capitol. Isnt it ironic that it happened in the city where the Surface Transportation Board is located. Thankfully the city is equipped to handle such a disaster.The town of Lowell, IN is not as fortunate if a derailment occurred. Please let us keep our way of living safe and free from the dangers of any train accidents or derailments. Thank you."
