[HEBRON] I am writing with my concerns about the proposed railroad coming through our county. I live in Boone Township and the railroad will be approximately 3/4 of a mile from my home. I am b=very concerned about the noise pollution this will have. My wife, Marjorie Blank has fibromyalgia and is very sensitive to loud noises. If this passes I feel we will have to move because it will cause her physical pain. I also have many concerns on how the railroad will affect our community. Here is a list of those concerns:1. Drainage issues when railroad damages drainage tiles in farm fields. 2. Longer commutes for children going to and from school. 3. Accidents at railroad crossings due to frequency of trains and impatience of especially teenage drivers. 4. Delayed Emergency care both fire and ambulance. 5. Noise pollution for our entire community. 6. Expense to community to acquire required emergency equipment in preparation for any derailments. 7. Close proximity of railroad to many schools.8. Hazardous materials which would be transported by railroad and it's proximity to Hebron's water supply. By far my biggest concern is with our children, especially our high school kids. One of these kids is going to be late for school, or a game, or a practice. Teenagers consider themselves immortal and do not consider the consequences of their actions. The rail line in its present position cuts across our entire school district. With so many roads bisected by the rail line in our school district one of these kids is going to ignore a crossing gate, or not stop at an ungated crossing. One of them will be killed at a crossing. I don't believe it's a matter of if, just a matter of when and how many. As to the benefits of the rail line I see absolutely zero local benefits. Yours is not a job I would want. You have a lot of issues before you. Please consider some of the above thoughts as you make your decision. Sincerely, Peter J Blank
