Please study the strength of the railroad span on Rock City Rd just north of German Valley. www.bridge hunter.com has 5 good pictures. Built in 1901, still has center pylon. Listed on quadrangle map Ridott span # IL089-9903. This is the only rail span from Seward where the GLBRR connects heading west toward Freeport. Just prior to crossing into Winnebago County, GLBRR will skirt 3 protected properties, Byron Forest Preserves Coleman Dells, Natural Land Institutes Howard D Coleman property & Severson Dells Forest Preserve & Severson Dells Nature Center. These areas provide excellent wildlife habitat along Hall Creek. These are a quiet respite for local urban residents. 110 trains will destroy that solitude. Beware figures don't lie, but liars do figure". Please verify the statistics GLBRR is promoting. Thank you for your attention!"
