Two concerns to share regarding proposed rail line through Porter County, Indiana: 1) Tracks will consume property that brings revenue to our non-profit agency. A one-time buyout will not replace the money we have relied on for sixty years. 2) The tracks will be only a tenth of a mile from our campus homes. Besides the noise factor due to that proximity, I am concerned one of our troubled teen residents will attempt to jump a train in order to runaway, and be seriously injured or killed. Not an issue anyone would like to see in the media.
