To: david.navecky@stb.dot.gov From: Kathleen C Long <kathieclong@gmail.com> Date: 04/15/2016 05:23PM Subject: Great Lakes Basin Railroad Dear Mr. Navecky. I live in a small town in Northwest Indiana named Westville. We have just learned about the proposed railroad line that would border our town on two sides. I have looked at the Great Lakes Basin Railroad website and do not see any public comment meetings scheduled for Westville. There have been some in the towns around us, but none scheduled here when according to the map, Westville is the town that will be most impacted by the proposed route. Will you be scheduling a meeting here? Westville is a fast growing town and the home of Purdue North Central University and Westville Corrections Center (the largest prison in the state of Indiana). The community needs to know how the railroad will impact transportation in our area, since we already have busy roads, with an Indiana Tollway entrance/exit by our town. There are many concerns about the noise impact of a very busy railroad on the community, since it appears to run right next to the town on two sides. Sincerely, Kathleen Long phone 219-786-4442 or cell 674-876-5400
