We live in Monroe Center, Illinois which is in eastern Ogle County. You are probably not familiar with this area but it is a rural farming community in which many of the farms affected by this project have been in families for decades. This project will take several thousand acres of prime farm ground out of production along its projected route. In addition several thousand more acres could be damaged by disruptions to the natural drainage of water and to the damage to existing field tiles. The investors make the claim of an economic boom to the areas along this project. I do not feel that this project will benefit anyone economically except those investing in it.
