McKay" <twoofus@netnitco.net> Date: 04/11/2016 08:26AM Subject: 35952 thru NW Indiana & Porter County The proposed route would definitely lower the property values of property in Boone Twp, Porter Twp and all the adjacent Lake and Porter County areas. There is an existing train track thru Jasper County going to the Nipsco plant in Wheatfield. Wouldn’t it be better to use an existing track then to disrupt the lives of people in the proposed route? It would not benefit our area, it would only lower our property values and disrupt our lives. It would also block off Hebron from the rest of Porter County. Our area is already polluted and the Great Lakes Railroad would futher pollute the area. It would also be too close to the schools in Lowell, Boone Grove and Morgan. Hebron use to have a train track thru the town. I’ve been in the Real Estate Business since the early 1970’s. Before the train tracks were abandoned, it was extremely hard to sell property near the tracts because of noise and pollution. Our area is unique that it has generations of farm families that want to continue having their younger generations continue farming the land. Please reconsider going thru Lake and Porter Counties in Indiana. Thank you. Sharon McKay Hebron, Indiana 46341"
