To: David.Navecky@stb.dot.gov" <David.Navecky@stb.dot.gov> From: Sue Mischke <smischke1@yahoo.com> Date: 04/08/2016 06:02PM Subject: Request for Extension of Date for Public Comment, Docket #FD 35952 (Great Lakes Basin Railroad) Dear Mr. Navecky: Concerning Docket #FD 35952 Great Lakes Basin Railroad, I would like to request that the date for public comments on this issue be extended. I am presently employed in the Washington DC area, but purchased a home for retirement in Westville Indiana a couple of years ago. Just three days ago, I found out about this issue that will greatly affect my home. Since I am currently spending the bulk of my time at my job in Beltsville, Maryland, and can only intermittently get back to my home in Westville, it is very difficult for me to find the information I need to be able to anticipate the effects of this proposed railroad on my home. As far as I can gather from what little information I have been able to find so far, the tracks will split and surround Westville. It appears, from the one map I have seen, that one set of tracks will pass about a mile North of my home, and the other set will pass a couple miles South of my home, crossing my principal route of access in both cases. Please extend the date for public comments until October 31, 2016. Because I am employed by the federal government, I will be increasingly swamped with end-of-year paperwork until the end of the current FY. I need to find out if I have real cause of concern. This date would give me time for discovery and to prepare, if necessary, a reasonable public comment that is based on actual information rather than on the hurried speculation this last-minute notice is causing. Thank you very much, Sue Mischke Property owner (and tax payer) in Westville, Indiana 9 E. Valparaiso St. Westville, IN 46391 Currently residing at 4203 Wicomico Avenue Beltsville, MD 20705 "
