It is an unconscionable endeavor to literally steal people's land. Our family farm is priceless to us. I am a 4th generation farmer on the ground my family has farmed for 147 years. In 2019 we will be recognized as a sesquicentennial farm. We will fight this project allowing a private entity to use eminent domain for private gain. Our farm is first and foremost, our family home. We farm, and also run a state licensed hunting preserve. This railroad would destroy everything we have worked for our entire lives. It is wrong to continue to develop valuable farm ground. We are not a disposable commodity. Sincerely, Joe and Kathleen (Maher) Bessen 5195 E Goodfarm Rd Gardner, IL 60424
