From: Elizabeth Varnes <evarnes@gmail.com> To: david.navecky@stb.dot.gov Cc: evarnes@hotmail.com Date: 04/08/2016 12:00 PM Subject: Extension of time to file comments for proposal of Great Lakes Basin Railroad Regarding Docket #FD 35952, I am respectfully requesting that the filing date for comments be extended from May 16, 2016 to August 16, 2016. This request is due to the short period of time between having to have our comments in and when we were first informed the railroad's plan. More time if needed for the people to research the scope of the railroad; this is a major undertaking. It seems as though the short time frame was well planned to benefit the railroad and not the people that would be affected by it. We are having raining weather now and the people who it would most affect are the farmers planting their fields. This could take longer for the farmers and they are the ones that will be most affected by this. Lost of their planting season would affect all of us. We must protest out farmland. Please take time to consider this, it is very reasonable in light of the fact that we were all pretty much blindsided" by this, planned by the railroad or not. Respectfully, Elizabeth M. Varnes 2472 North 3959 Road Sheridan, IL 60551"
