From: Sue Risseeuw <suerisseeuw@gmail.com> To: david.navecky@stb.dot.gov Date: 04/07/2016 05:01 PM Subject: Docket # FD 35952 Mr. David Navecky: RE: Docket # FD 35952 Great Lakes Basin Railroad: Request for extension of time to file comments for this Proposal Many in the affected area have a grave concern about how quickly this process has been announced with meetings scheduled and comments required in such a short period of time. The March 18 notification of this proposal with public scoping meetings scheduled from April 11 through April 21st with comments due May 16, 2016 is a very aggressive time frame. This timeframe is especially troublesome for an issue that is not critical and not in the public’s best interest. Considering the scope, complexity and impact of this proposal, this timeframe does not give much time for the affected residents to do their due diligence and research for such a major undertaking. This time frame is especially troubling as it comes at a time when the affected parties are starting one of the busiest times of their year, the planting season. If you know anything about farming, planting has to be done quickly as the weather permits. If local residents take time to deal with this issue and lose their planting season, it negatively affects the meager profits they make in even a decent year. We are talking about the people who provide the food, milk and nourishment for the families of our country. I hereby respectfully request that the date for filing comments be extended for 90 days from May 16, 2016 until August 16, 2016? This request is very reasonable in light of the extenuating circumstances. Very Truly Yours, Sue Risseeuw Beloit, Wisconsin
