I am writing in response to GLB railroads proposal to run a new railroad through Grundy county and make a U shaped loop through northern Illinois. This proposal will destroy many thousands of acres of some of the finest farmland in the country, farmland that is desperately needed to feed an ever increasing population. This project will be of no value to the farmer, the land, the environment, the air, the water. It has the potential of poisoning the land for eternity should a hazardous waste spill occur with the unsafe tank cars. Land is the only thing on earth that is limited, we want to keep what is ours for future generations, not turn it over to someone to make an enormous amount of money for a few greedy people!!
