If you think a railroad brings money to an area, let's put this in your front yard and see if you feel the same way. The proposed railroad will run straight thru my family's farm, right next to a school, and Indian burial grounds. The noise will disturb the farm animals and people living in the area. Farm equipment won't be able to get to the fields easily. The volunteer fire department won't be able to get to fires as fast. The value of land will decrease. This will not bring money to the area but vice versa. Beautiful farm land will now turn into useless railroad tracks. Toxic chemicals will go by land protected by the DNR. People in this are live off of well water and that will get polluted. As you can see by the turnout of people at protests, there are not people for this railroad. Not a single person along this route is for it. That should speak volumes in itself. I will pray for you all that you may see money is the root of evil. That God will open your eyes so you may be put on the path of righteousness.
