I just wanted to say thank you for your time and coming out to meet with our communities. I have a few concerns about this railway; #1 route 2 is a major highway in our area and I noticed that the railway is only asking for one crossover on route 2. Then in Lowell they are calling route 2 181st. In our area and on our maps its known as route 2 not 181st. It is traveled a lot by cars and semis. In Lowell they are saying they are doing a crossover. With 65 not being to far away this is going to cause a lot of problems for emergency responders. #2 Our school buses already have a travel time of an hour or more. I'm concerned on what this will do to our kids and community. Is it going to effect when schools start and end? Will kids be losing sleep because they have to get up even earlier then they already do? #3 The tracks split our towns in half. On one side of the tracks you will have 2 volunteer fire departments and EMS. The people on the other side of the tracks will have no one. I fear for the lives and the buildings/homes that will be lost because the emergency responders will have more travel time and stops from the train. Already the hospital is a 15-20min drive. #4 Drainage our county has spent thousands of dollars to get all the water following to the south. If this railway comes in it is going to be like a dam and cause flooding by homes and in fields. It will also cause problems with the Kankakee river and power plants. #5 Wells. We all have wells in the area that the railway will be going over. If there is a derail how is this going to effect thousands of peoples water for families, livestock and crops. Thank you for your time in reading this and again thank you for coming out and listening to everyone! Kristina Hallberg
