I am write to express my opposition to the Great Lakes Basins railroad that will be crossing Porter County Indiana. I oppose the rail due to safety, noise & environmental concerns. The rail will be within a few miles of my children's school, Boone Grove Middle School, the rail is a few miles from our home, it is also very close to Stoney Run County Park. I am concerned about the teen drivers who travel these country roads that may possible try to drive around the tracks. I am concerned about hazardous waste, chemicals or other dangerous items that maybe transported by these trains. This may appear to be a rural area with little impact, but it is on the edge of very densely populated area of lake & porter counties in Indiana. This area is still heavily traveled. Please reconsider the route of the train. Moving it further south to a less populated area maybe a good solution. Sincerely, Michelle Grant - concerned parent
