Many affected landowners and concerned citizens are just now learning of the proposed project. The deadline of May 16 does not allow enough time for people to learn about a project of this scope, and certainly not enough time to formulate the kinds of input you are requesting as part of the Scoping process. Also at issue is the fact that these are agricultural communities just beginning the busiest time of their year. Planting cannot be put on hold in order to work on our responses to this project. Farming is reliant on the weather and must be accomplished when conditions are favorable. In order to properly address all of the issues of this proposed project, we absolutely need more time. Time to do the proper research and due diligence that is most certainly needed on a project that will affect so many lives and so much valuable farm land.
