The purposed rail line divides Porter Twp. in Porter County, IN in half. Every crossing in Porter Township will be at Grade. In addition to emergency vehicles being delayed by a train, emergency vehicle dispatch could be delayed because volunteer firemen could be delayed even getting to the station. Also with no fire hydrants, in a major fire event tanker trucks are the only source of water. Firemen could be helpless at a fire if the water tankers are being delayed by a train. The railroad at its current location divides the fire station from the majority of homes it serves.
