Personally I find Great Lakes Basin Transportation llc to be lacking on information to make quality comments for an EIS. Just how any roads does GLB intend to close? Having a broad statement advocating as many road closures as possible to limit traffic is not a specific plan. For those who live in committees effects, this will mean a vast reduction in quality of life issues. With township roads closed, access to schools and the cost of busing will increase dramatically. Access to emergency services will be limited. In many cases fire and ems districts will not have access to homes except for additional travel outside the district. For GLBT llc to list road closures as a safety benefit is a bit myopic. We have paid for our local roads through decades of taxes and it provides safe service and economic benefit. Yes, road closure provides economic benefit for the undisclosed investors of GLBT llc, but we are sacrificing that economic and safety benefit. How many more accidents and lives will be lost due to slower emergency service response time but for the profit of GLBT llc? We need more information to make a quality response. The website for GLBT llc will provide local HAZMAT training, but again lacks specifics. How many fire departments will be trained and at what level. Again, if out of area fire departments are trained for response to train spills, will these fire departments be knowledgeable on the limited road access. Just stating in a website GLBT llc will provide training and contractors is a vague commitment. Thank you for the consideration.
