The Great Lakes Basin railroad route passes through a 9.5 acre lake on the west side of Interstate Highway I-65. Filling the lake would destroy a water resource currently used for irrigation and fishing recreation. West of that lake are many soccer fields used by soccer teams from all over the Midwest. Those fields are directly in the path of the proposed railway.
