I am against this proposed railroad route for many reasons. First and foremost this track will be located a quarter mile from a school delivering hazardous freight of which my community is unable to handle. Being a retired RN I was on the open heart team and realize that time is essential for survival of a loved one. Since this proposed route goes through many of our back roads at the tune of a train every 13 min.,I see this as a big problem for first responders. Another concern is drainage issues for our farmers as well as easement to their fields as the new proposed track will be closing some roads. Noise pollution is another factor to consider especially next to school. If certain roads are closed off it could potentially affect our traffic tremendously when harvest time comes and the semis and tractors must take our highways to get to the grain elevators. At the very least I think it should consider rerouting the tracks a little more south with much less population and subsequently less impact.
