Environmental impact to southern Porter County, and all rural areas the GLB RR wants to destroy is huge. Any number of communities, households, and farms in its path rely on well water/ground water. I rely on groundwater. I have NO OTHER SOURCE of water available to me. I am one RR car derailment away from losing all potable water. Southern Porter County has no other water source available; Lake Michigan water is not possible. 100 trains a day, times the number of cars they haul, each one potentially hauling toxic waste, oil based products, household use chemicals, pesticides, herbicides, and who knows what else. Tainted ground water supplies affect wildlife, people, other nearby rivers and creeks... all part of the environment GLB RR wants to destroy. Please do not allow this to happen.
