The proposed railroad will have severe environmental impacts by disrupting wildlife, and the cutting of field tile lines in fields. If a tank car or another hazardous materials car were to derail, the impact would be enormous by poisoning valuable topsoil and ground water. Roads could be closed and that would mean slower response times for emergency personnel if there is a field fire, house fire, or if someone needs an ambulance.
