According to the Great Lakes Basin Transportation proposed rail line thru Lowell, Indiana there will only be 2 overpasses, US 41 and I-65. Who will maintain them? The other county roads will have ground level crossings. Trains will be crossing roads every 15 minutes at 70 mph. That will impact school bus, farm equipment & ambulance travel times, plus general traffic flow. If there is an accident or major chemical spill the local fire department is not equipped to handle it. Schools and towns will be at risk from hazardous material and ground water contamination. Who will be financially responsible?
