Disturbing Virgin rural lands in Lake and Porter county is a travesty. Not only will the sounds disrupt production of livestock, but the possibility of poisonous chemicals traveling through my area polluting the ground water with an accident is not tolerable! Train horns breaking the peace and quiet of our serene lifestyle is not acceptable either. There are plenty of non operating railways that could be built afresh. Lake and Porter counties of Indiana has vehicle testing facilities to reduce the air pollution which can be a financial burden to poorer citizens with older vehicles. The State has no problem making us follow this environmentally friendly mandate", however, There are those who worship money who want to pollute our air with diesel fumes from a very busy railroad. The estimate has come in at possibly running 110 trains a day here" that's about one every 12 minutes! That diesel fumes spewing out in our air supply on a constant basis. I bought 10 acres and have built our dream home and I have plans on developing my acres as a hobby organic produce farm. Now the threat of a railroad coming through near my property and my neighbors who have purposely moved to the country to live a cleaner lifestyle is being threatened. I know this is a big money maker for a few, and I hope there our still some in our federal government not selling out to the all mighty dolar. Please consider an alternative route through an already ndustrialized area. Don't pollute our precious farm lands! Brad Brown"
