I am opposed to the proposed Great Lakes Basin Railroad. I fell this track would harm the local community and place an undue burden on the first responders in the event of an accident. Our fire departments are small and would be unable to handle a derailment and the closest railroad emergency response team is well over an hour and a half away on a good day. A derailment could be disastrous to the local environment and a spill or fire cold spread quickly given the limited first responders in the area.
