To whom it may concern, We have just recently leaned of the proposed GLB rail line route. This route passes between a state prison and the end of our driveway. As with most of the residences where I live, this will have a detrimental impact on our property values as well as our peace and quiet way of life impacting acres and acres of timber, river and potentially water table. There is currently an ongoing issue with a previous train derailment in our area. Wedron Illinois, where land owners are sitting on acres of worthless property due to a spill several years ago. As with my neighbors, my property is a huge portion of my personal net worth and a life time of labor building it. GLB's private companies profit and net gain is a detriment to my property value, and in the event of a derailment and spill, it is even more detrimental to it's value. particularly since EVERY residence in the area is on it's own private well. With contaminated water...we are the new Wedron, with worthless dirt we owe money on. I have lived in the area 50 plus years. I have witnessed 2 derailment in the immediate town, and the derailment in Wedron...It is not If"...it is "When". I am certain I am not the only resident concerned about these issues, and no one is more for progress and capitalism than myself. But there are other options than this route. This route was chosen for convenience of a company to not deal with big city infrastructure. An infrastructure that already has the manpower and equipment capable of handling spills, derailments and freight traffic. I hope these will be taken into consideration before any decisions are made. Thank you."
