I am writing to oppose the idea to reactivate the railroad to support the proposed Centre County Dump which Resource Recovery LLC has been trying to establish for five years. There is no need for rail service in this area except to support the landfill. I've lived in this area all my life and this is not appropriate use of the land or any resources. I would recommend that all STB representatives visit this area to see what a ridiculous idea a landfill or this rail service would be in this area. Reactivating this rail service would be an extreme waste of resources, money, time, etc. and would be a disaster to this beautiful recreation area. I've wrote to Govenor Rendell many times stating the State could receive money about promoting this area as a tourist attraction...not a dump site. Many visitors to this region state that our area has replaced the tourism in the Poconos because that area has been destroyed by landfills, dumps, and other unnecessary commercialism. Please decline permission for this railroad to be reactivated. It will ruin this area with noice, pollution and unnecessary activity. Thank you. Linda Padisak
