Comment EI-16391

Received or sent (printed as 2/19/2009)

This is in response to the proposed re-activation of the rail line from Clearfield County to Centre County PA. The area where this line will travel has been abused for more than a century by people trying to get an edge to make money. First the lumber barons, then the coal barons, and now the trash barons. The area can and will recover if WE let it; so just let it! The need to re-activate the line comes from greed not need and that has been the problem from the beginning. The bridge over the RED Moshannon; (By the way, it was not always RED), should be on the Historical Registry. Instead we will be spending millions to put it back in service. The area has value in esthetic, scenic, historic nature that will be impacted for years to come in a negative way. As a hunter, canoeist, and photographer this re-activation will only lessen the opportunities to enjoy our natural beauty that Pennsylvanians have the right to in our Constitution (Article I, Section 27).
