Ms. Johnson-Ball: I attended the hearing on the CN-EJ&E purchase on Tuesday, August 26, 2008 at the Matteson, Illinois Holiday Inn. I greatly appreciated the ability to obtain information, look at the incredibly detailed aerial photos of the development which may occur, and talk to people who could explain them to me. I also found out about the immense ramifications of all kinds which will impact Park Forest and all of the communities along the EJ&E. I could not more strongly recommend that the CN's purchase not occur despite the strong need of transportation development needed in the Chicagoland area. My house will survive, but I will probably be forced to leave my home community due to the changes which will occur. Some people will lose their homes outright and may not realize this yet and the social losses which will result whether one knows this or not will be extraordinary. I could not more strongly recommend that the STB do what they can to redirect this oncoming catastrophe. Thank you.
